Dr. David J. Hendricks, MD

Karen is a passionate and lifelong volunteer and volunteer advocate.  She has 17 years of experience in the emergency service field as an active volunteer and as the Volunteer Program Manager for Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System, retiring in 2023. She was responsible for the recruitment, retention, and engagement of volunteers in the combination department and through her leadership her program consistently exceeded national recruitment and retention standards for volunteers in the emergency services field.  

Through her career she has educated non-profit organizations on aspects of volunteer management, leadership development, strategic planning, succession planning, recruitment, retention, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Karen is a national instructor and has taught for the International Association of Fire Chief. National Associate of Emergency Medical Technicians, Virginia Fire Chiefs, and the Virginia Department of Health. She holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. 

Karen continues her engagement as a volunteer in her community and a consultant supporting non-profits to enhance their most valuable assets, personnel resources.
